Welcome to Camp Fairwood!

Introduction

Nestled among the pines in central Wisconsin are 230 acres of pristine forest land, prairie fields, wildlife and a private fishing lake. Since 1966, God has blessed us with a beautiful camp to be used in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. Hundreds of people each year find at Camp Fairwood a refuge from the storms of life. Our mission is to provide an excellent Christian camping experience in which campers may come to know Christ as Savior and grow in Him through God’s Word and a godly staff. We strive to provide a loving Camp that is Christ-centered, Action-packed with Activities, filled with Meaningful Moments in a Pleasant and Peaceful setting.

Operations

Camp Fairwood is a year-round ministry with seven weeks of summer camp for youth and families and about 38 retreats throughout the year. There are two full-time employees of the Camp, the director and maintenance manager. There are also two part-time employees, the office assistant and the head cook. During the summer we hire about 40-45 staff to run our program.

Facilities

There are 25 buildings on the camp grounds. Fourteen cabins are used year-round and sleep about 10 people each. Six additional cabins are available for summer use and sleep 10 people each. Our most functional and widely used building is our dining hall which can seat 175 people. Our chapel is uniquely located in a remodeled loft of a barn and can also seat 175 people. We have 3 sports fields available for games, a one acre spring-fed swimming lake, a 5 acre fishing lake, a rifle and archery range, basketball/volleyball courts and 4½ miles of beautifully groomed walking trails.

Program

Each day of summer youth camp we have two morning Bible sessions and an evening Bible chapel. We offer morning “Skill/Activity times” for youth to enjoy archery, riflery, fishing, biking, canoeing, horsemanship, soccer, crafts, hiking, basketball, and volleyball. In the afternoons we have an equestrian program where campers enjoy riding horses on camp’s beautiful trails. For Junior High and Senior campers we make available the exciting game of paintball. We also offer tubing down the Mecan River for our Senior High and Family campers.

Other Unique Features
  • Camp Fairwood has several mature pine plantations that provide a unique atmosphere. Trees are harvested about every 10 years.
  • The sandy soil at camp makes playing field games possible even right after inclement weather.
  • We are very thankful to the Lord that we have very few mosquitoes (relatively speaking) at Camp Fairwood!
  • Camp Fairwood is also known for its delicious food. We serve family style meals that are “all you care to eat.”
  • We are located near two down-hill ski resorts that make it possible for guest groups to enjoy the slopes in the winter and then return to camp to relax.
  • Pleasant Lake is located across the road to the camp. We have access to this beautiful 127 acre body of water to use for skiing and canoeing.
